Description

The project is conducted together with Prof. Dr. T. Pap (UKM) The bacterial protein YopM is an effector protein of Y. enterocolitica and has been identified as a cell-penetzrating bacterial peptide. In all tested cell types the expression of TNFalpha and other pro-inflammatory cytokines is strongly reduced. Here we will assess the possibility to develop YopM as a novel therapeutic for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis in a transgenic mouse model expressing hTNF.
