  • Studies on the thermal stability, biosynthesis, toxicity and (intestinal) metabolism of mycotoxins.
  • Development of human biomonitoring methods (HBM) for exposure assessment of mycotoxins and detection of nutritional biomarkers.
  • Metabolomics- and proteomics-based approaches to characterise cellular responses upon exposure to mycotoxins and other food constituents
  • transfer of food constituents across the intestinal barrier (Caco-2 model) as well as the blood-brain-barrier.
  • Studies on the occurrence and significance of mycotoxins in indoor environments
