Based on our research results concerning the UTAM molecular surface nano-patterning in the first period of the TRR61 program, large-scale three-dimensional (3D) functional molecular nano-architectures shall be fabricated in the second period of this project to further advance the options for synthesizing functional three-dimensional molecular surface nanostructures utilizing the newly extended UTAM technique. In this respect, the UTAM-prepared nanostructures will be used as the starting materials for 3D molecular surface patterning. The large patterning area and the controllable structures of the 3D molecular nano-patterns, which originate from the UTAM surface nano-patterning, will lead to enhanced and controllable optical properties of the functionalized nanostructures.
