Project information With the rise of social media like blogs, micro blogs, wikis, or social networks, the question arises of how to make use of these technologies within the innovation processes of companies and for individual and organizational learning. Especially IT-enabled change is of critical importance for modern organizations and - despite the risks it is often associated with - also offers a plethora of opportunities regarding demographic change. By developing a demography-aware social augmentation and innovation platform, the WeChange project opts to close knowledge gaps and enable the use of methods and instruments to increase innovation capabilities of companies in the context of demographic change. Here, aligning and integrating organizational processes with private social processes may be a suitable way to make use of innovation potentials even of employees with discontinuous carreer paths. Research questions The research project adressed the following three research questions: F1: What types of IT-enabled business processes are suitable for social augmentation and innovation? F2: Which social media technologies may be used to implement a social augmentation and innovation platform? F3: What are design principles that govern the implementation of social augmentation and innovation in the context of IT-enabled business processes?
