The project's aim was a re-examination and fundamental recording of the architecture of the famous tomb in which in 1881 most of the presently known royal mummies of the New Kingdom and those of members of the high-priestly family of the 21st Dynasty had been found and which had been emptied in only 48 hours without any documentation. There were five seasons of work between 1998 and 2006. Members of the mission: Erhart Graefe, Galina Belova, Anke Ilona Blöbaum, Alexej Krol, Nadejda Reshetnikova, Goerge Johnson, Brent Benjamin, Birgit Schlick-Nolte, Sonia Guss, Sergej Ivanov, Ramadan Ahmed Ali, Abder Rahman Ahmed Hassan, Gamal Amin Abeed, Magda Saadi Eben, Ahmed Abdel Hakim el-Soghair, Ahmed Hassem, Ashraf Senussi, Gaddafi Abder Rahim.
