One of the key challenges Münster and the Münsterland region face is the provision of renewable energy. Communication plays an important role in the legitimisation of such infrastructure projects among the population and their active participation in public discussions up to the planning approval procedure. The project focuses on the question of how communication can influence the attribution of legitimacy to renewable energy projects. In addition to theoretical research, a mixed-methods design will be used, combining content analysis with a Q-sort survey and qualitatively guided interviews with affected and interested citizens.
