CRC 1348 - A09: Regulation of vesicle formation in clathrin-independent endocytosis

Basic data for this project

Description

Tetraspanin-enriched microdomains (TEM) act as platforms in the plasma membrane regulating various biological processes. Depending on the composition of TEM, tetraspanins modulate, stabilize, or prevent the activities of associated molecules. In this project, we will analyze the role of the dynamic composition of TEM for induction and execution of a novel endocytic mechanism used by human papillomaviruses (HPV) for infection and study the recruitment of cellular factors regulating membrane bending and scission.
