The project is an attempt to reconstruct the research programme of inductive metaphysics as it emerged in the 19th century. It combines historical with systematic aims and methods. The historical focus is on the period from mid 19th century (Schopenhauer, Fechner, Lotze, von Hartmann and others) to early 20th century (Külpe, Becher, Wenzl and others). The systematic focus is on the scientific goals of inductive metaphysics, its background epistemology and especially the methods and inference patterns applied.
