The oeuvre of the writer and lawyer Jodocus Donatus Hubertus Temme (1798-1881) represents an ideal example of the mutual interference betweenlegal discourse and knowledge collected in literature (e.g. morals or medicine). The collaborative discourse analysis as well as legal and criminal-historical analysis of this oeuvre constitute the main aim of this project. The focus will be on the development of Temme's legal philosophy and poetological concepts in his publications of five decades, with a special interest in his anthropological conceptualization of 'crime'.
