Description

Project P16 (Busch) focuses on the impact of mitochondrial ultra-structure and dynamics on the functionality of the oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) machinery and mitochondrial performance. Within the project, the group will (a) focus on the link between the heterogene-ous distribution of OXPHOS complexes to variations of the proton motive force, and (b) dis-sect the connection between OXPHOS organization and mitochondrial performance by ma-nipulating the mitochondrial ultrastructure, altering mitochondrial dynamics, and following quality control mechanisms such as mitophagy.
