CRC TRR 128 B07: Oligodendrocyte progenitor cells in de- and remyelination: release of differentiation brakes in mouse and human cells

Basic data for this project

Type of projectSubproject in DFG-joint project hosted at University of Münster
Duration at the University of Münster01/07/2016 - 31/12/2020 | 2nd Funding period

Description

In chronic MS lesions, maturation of OPC to MBP-expressing oligodendrocytes is impaired hindering remyelination. B07 will generate human iPS derived oligodendrocytes (iOL) from MS patients and controls and examine negative regulators of oligodendrocyte differentiation found in murine cells. We will analyze NG2 as a potential biomarker for CNS damage and the effects of stress-related posttranscriptional disregulation of (re-) myelination. We will compare differentiation and death of human iOL from MS patients and healthy controls and the effect of different phagocyte subsets on iOL development.
