Description

Rehabilitation sport with heart patients is prescribed by a doctor and organized by the German Disabled Sports Association and its members. Up to now, there has always been a doctor present in the cardiac sports groups. However, there are too few for the growing need in cardiac sports. We are investigating acceptance and safety if the prescribed medical care is organized in different ways in the so-called "supervisor model". In this model, one physician supervises several cardiac sports groups and trains exercise instructors and participants, but is not present at all times. Emergency rescue is provided by a doctor on call, by paramedics who are present, or by specially trained exercise instructors. The supervisor model is carried out for one year in the federal states of Hesse, Lower Saxony and Saxony.
