Description

KITA-LOVE (Kindergarten Infection Surveillance: Droplet Spread, Respiratory Disease, and Optimal Epidemic Preparedness) is a multidisciplinary research initiative investigating the transmission dynamics of respiratory pathogens in daycare settings. By developing advanced protocols for environmental sampling, sequencing, and metagenomic analysis, the project generates high-resolution data on airborne and surface contamination. These local findings are then integrated with regional epidemiological bulletins to evaluate whether daycare centers can act as sentinel sites, representing broader community infection patterns. Through this innovative approach, KITA-LOVE not only informs targeted infection prevention strategies in kindergartens but also contributes to public health surveillance and epidemic preparedness at the community level.
