Der Karl-Storz-Preis ist auf akademische Lehre in der Phoniatrie beschränkt, betrifft also ausschließlich studentischen Unterricht, nicht ärztliche Fort- oder Weiterbildung. Die Konzepte einzelner Universitätsklinika sollen sich dem Wettbewerb stellen und ggf. synergistisch genutzt werden.
