Abstract

Theories with tensorial interactions generate spacetime from discrete constituents. If the tensors are group fields, these spacetimes are spin foams. We already have a basic understanding of the renormalization group and phase structure of Euclidean models in which the fields live on compact groups like SU(2). I will discuss their critical dimension, non-Gaussian fixed points as well as the effect of coupling matter degrees of freedom. This also lays the ground for generalization to Lorentzian models.
