Abstract

Production planning and quality control are jeopardized by machine wear and breakdowns, which cause quality deviations and disrupt production plans. Prescriptive maintenance offers the potential to predict the condition of a production asset and make optimal operational decisions. These can be derived by conceptualizing integrated prescriptive maintenance, production planning, and quality control models. Unfortunately, no overview of the building blocks of such models exists. Therefore, this review identifies the objectives, outputs, input, and scope of integrated models for prescriptive maintenance, production planning, and quality control.
