Research article (journal) | Peer reviewedIn the present article we generate theory-based categories for analyzing everyday life in order to gain a deeper understanding of sociospatial change in the urban fabric. Here, the metatheoretical framework of Planetary Urbanization by Neil Brenner and Christian Schmid (2011; 2014; 2015) offers us a fruitful approach. Their epistemological approach allows us to focus at different dimensions of urban and suburban life in an active tension and to analyze them with regard to different, constitutive moments. We further develop the perspective of everyday life, which the authors treat rather marginally, with our own conceptual approach, which starts at the point of struggles involved in everyday life in order to trace the sociospatial change.
