Abstract

This chapter explores the questions: How can humans learn peace whilst the world is at war? How can peace educators face all the internal and external crises – without losing hope, getting cynical or burning out? It is argued that in order to be a transformative praxis peace education needs to create spaces for reflection, especially for peace educators themselves. This chapter is based upon my research which investigates how peace workers in the Civil Peace Service are supported with psychosocial staff care in terms of professional spaces of reflection, and in this chapter I link my insights to peace education and other caretakers that contribute to cultures of peace, care, and regeneration.
