Research article (book contribution) | Peer reviewedThis article explores the integration of Extended Reality (XR) technologies in education, with a particular focus on language learning. Drawing on qualitative data, it examines the perspectives of XR designers, teachers, and language teacher educators. Findings highlight shared opportunities – such as increased learner engagement, safe practice spaces, and enhanced authenticity – and key challenges, including limited resources, lack of training, and conceptual uncertainties. The study identifies the need for co-creation between educa- tors and designers and introduces preliminary guidelines to support a pedagogical imple- mentation. It concludes by outlining the development of the PAX Framework and Guide- lines for future practice.1
