KFO 342 - P10: Role of Neuropilin-1 on Lung Macrophages during Pulmonary Inflammation

Basic data for this project

Type of projectSubproject in DFG-joint project hosted at University of Münster
Duration at the University of Münster01/10/2023 - 30/09/2026 | 1st Funding period

Description

This project will investigate the role of Nrp1-ligands on monocyte recruitment and macrophage polarization in the lung. In this project proposal, the principal investigators aim to provide novel insight into the molecular interactions and signaling partners of Nrp1 on macrophages and to characterize the role of myelo-monocytic Nrp1 in the pathobiology of acute pulmonary inflammation and resolution. Ultimately, the results will initiate the translation of the findings into the development of an Nrp1 inhibitor which preferentially targets lung macrophages for therapeutic benefit.
