CRC TRR 58 - A03: Functional circuit analysis of the extended amygdala in relation to sustained fear

Basic data for this project

Type of projectSubproject in DFG-joint project hosted at University of Münster
Duration at the University of Münster01/07/2013 - 30/06/2016 | 2nd Funding period

Description

The project A03 aims at a synaptic circuit analysis of the extended amygdala. Synaptic interactions between the central (CeA) and medial (MeA) amygdala, and the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BNST), are proposed to generate phasic and tonic patterns of activity, thereby contributing to phasic and sustained fear.
