The Helmholtz Alliance for Astroparticle Physics, led by KIT, interconnects the Helmholtz Centers KIT and DESY, 15 German universities, three Max Planck institutes and two foreign partners and thus forms an internationally visible consortium. Research topics include the "High-Energy Universe", the "Dark Universe", and "Astroparticle Theory". The alliance brings together all important research activities on these topics present in German higher education institutions. An international review committee has unanimously agreed to support the alliance with almost 10 million Euro over five years. At the University of Münster, the Institute for Theoretical Physics and the Institute for Nuclear Physics contribute substantially to the alliance.
