Description

The eHealth sector received considerable attention among academics and practitioners in recent years. Different solutions ranging from electronic health records to telemedicine practices were developed from the late 1990’s onwards. All these solutions target on providing better medical services to the patients and reducing health care costs at the same time. The goal of the project is to develop and evaluate the processes and rules of providing medical assistance to patients under remote health monitoring, depending on the degree of risks to their health. At the beginning of the project, best practices of European health care organizations and eHealth service providers in the area of remote health monitoring, as well as the latest scientific findings have to be analyzed. Based on the available best practice examples and the health care process analysis, rules for automatically identifying health risk factors of the patient under remote health monitoring have to be defined and formalized. The corresponding algorithms and methods, which describe the working procedure of the medical and assisting personnel involved in remote health monitoring projects, have to be developed. The resulting processes will then be implemented by a project partner and evaluated in real practical projects.
