Within the scope of the BMBF-Project cHL-hybrid we develop an e-Learning repository. Our primary goal is to centralize information about the immense amount of learning material (digital lectures, exercises, or self assessment units), scattered throughout the University of Muenster. Following the concept of the "Yellow Pages" we provide metadata about remotely offered learning objects: descriptions, corresponding to the international metadata standard LOM, are managed at a central place. This metadata in turn references the remote learning objects. A user can search, for example, for learning objects of a specific author. The resulting list of links offered by the share.loc repository allows an immediate access of the content on the remote server. The target group of the share.loc system includes students and lecturers. For students we provide a single point of access to e-Learning content, making a search within various platforms and web pages obsolete. Teachers are able to enrich their own lectures with material referenced by the repository. It is the intention of the project to address particularly those teachers that do not benefit from the advantages of e-Learning today.
