CRC 1083: Structure and Dynamics of Internal Interfaces - A13: Theory of Electronic Interface States in Weakly Bound Heterostructures

Basic data for this project

Type of projectSubproject in DFG-joint project hosted outside University of Münster
Duration at the University of Münster01/07/2017 - 30/06/2021 | 1st Funding period

Description

At the interface between weakly bound low-dimensional materials, the quantum-mechanical electronic structure forms characteristic states. Their spectra offer detailed insight into the microscopic structure of the interface, and the states form the basis for tailored functionalities in (opto-)electronic applications. The project aims at a theoretical description and quantitative evaluation of the interface states, in context with corresponding experiments within the CRC.
