The BIOSIMPLEX project, funded by the Joachim Herz Foundation, aims to establish a link between current bioscientific research and teacher training through the use of computer simulations. To this end, suitable research topics are identified using the Cynefin framework and computer simulations are explored, adapted and didactically developed. In addition to identifying suitable research topics, the seminar concept includes the analysis and (re)programming of existing simulations. In a course designed as a tandem of science and science education, student teachers are supported in developing approaches for integration into the classroom. The main objective is to support prospective teachers in acquiring skills in the field of "simulation and modeling" (cf. DiKoLAN framework, Becker et al., 2020).
