Based on the identification and analysis of general and type-specific (mis)success factors of organized consumer participation, the MOVER project aims to derive recommendations for organizations, advisory institutions and consumer (education) policy. The findings should serve as a basis to further establish, consolidate and/or expand organized consumer participation. This is relevant in light of two developments: On the one hand, consumers are apparently becoming increasingly involved for consumer-related purposes in formal and non-formal organizations in the course of a 'dissolution of consumption'. These organizations are becoming increasingly important for our soci-ety, not only because of their participation and inclusion function, but also because of their discussion potential and their infrastructural substitute function. On the other hand, there is a need to specifically address the factors that inhibit or promote the (mis)success of organized consumer participation, given the challenges that organizations face and sometimes fail to overcome. In order to achieve the objectives, a series of 6 work packages is envisaged. The work packages (WP1-3), which prepare and relate to the (mis)success factor analysis, are being worked on by the HHU, US and WWU. WP4, which runs in parallel and reflects the results of WP1-3 regarding educational transfer potentials, is being worked on by the UzK due to its specific educational expertise. The report (WP5), which summarizes the findings and recommendations for action, will be prepared equally by the collaborative partners.
