The phagocytosis of apoptotic cells by macrophages is crucial to resolve inflammation and promote tissue repair. We previously observed that resident macrophages in different tissues exert diverse immune responses upon dead cell clearance. We aim to decode the transcriptional and metabolic pathways in macrophages that contribute to the organ-specific immune responses through the phagocytosis of diverse apoptotic cargos.
