Description

This proposal investigates the mechanism of luminal plasma membrane fusion using a combination of genetic, live imaging, and biophysical approaches. We will focus on the role of secretory lysosomes (SLs), in particular addressing how they deliver membrane material to specific cellular interfaces in tracheal fusion cells. We will investigate the formation, the dynamic behavior, and the regulation of SLs by Ca2+ signaling.
