Description
The call "Between Europe and the Orient - A Focus on Research and Higher Education in/on Central Asia and the Caucasus" of the Volkswagen Foundation was first launched in the year 2000, and has supported 13 projects in its last round running since 2014. We will organize a status conference that aims to provide a platform across projects, facilitate exchange, showcase results, support future collaboration across the region and provide training to young scholars. The symposium will be the third of its kind, after two similar ones in Tbilisi, Georgia and Bishkek, Kyrgzstan in May and June 2010.The program of the status conference will comprise talks of all projects, keynote talks, two training units on proposal writing and project management and two field excursions. It will take place in Almaty, Kazakhstan from 16 - 19 April 2018.
