CRC 1348 - B06: Cell-cell interactions controlling organ shape

Basic data for this project

Type of projectSubproject in DFG-joint project hosted at University of Münster
Duration at the University of Münster01/01/2026 - 31/12/2029 | 3rd Funding period

Description

Using zebrafish primordial germ cells (PGCs) as a model, we will study the mechanisms by which migrating cells sense and respond to physical and cellular cues that position them at the correct places during organ formation. To this end, we are establishing a framework for deriving morphological features and for following the dynamic localization of organelles and molecules within the cells. We will study changes in these parameters in response to interactions with different structures that PGCs encounter in their environment.
