Everyday life is a central category for the interpretation of the urban and the suburban. The metatheory of Planetary Urbanization (Brenner & Schmidt 2015) focuses on the socio-spatial transformation of the suburban. The focus is on a multidimensional understanding of urbanization and the scalar dimension of “everyday life” contained therein serves as a perspective for conceptually and empirically capturing socio-spatial change.
