Der mit 5.000 Euro dotierte Zarnekow-Förderpreis wird von der Zarnekow-Stiftung im Stifterverband an junge Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler verliehen, die sich in herausragender Weise mit einem rehabilitationswissenschaftlichen Thema befasst haben. Die Stiftung schreibt ihren Preis jährlich in Kooperation mit der Gesellschaft für Rehabilitationswissenschaften aus. Die Illa und Werner Zarnekow-Stiftung wurde 1994 als nichtrechtsfähige Stiftung im Stifterverband errichtet. Die Stiftung der Eheleute Illa und Werner Zarnekow aus Jüchen fördert wissenschaftliche, kulturelle und mildtätige Zwecke sowie die öffentliche Gesundheitspflege, Jugendpflege und/oder Jugendfürsorge.
