Der Heinz Maier-Leibnitz-Preis wird seit 1977 an junge Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlernach der Promotion in Anerkennung herausragender Leistungen vergeben. Die Preise sind mit 20.000 Euro dotiert und sollen die ausgezeichneten Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen und Nachwuchswissenschaftler darin unterstützen, ihre wissenschaftliche Laufbahn weiterzuverfolgen.
