Die ursprüngliche "Westfälisch-Lippische Universitätsgesellschaft Bielefeld" heisst seit dem 14. Januar 2016 „Universitätsgesellschaft Bielefeld, Verein der Freunde und Förderer der Universität Bielefeld e. V.“
