About the distinction

At the 6th HLF, 32 laureates of mathematics and computer science spent a week of networking and scientific exchange with 200 carefully selected young researchers from 60 countries. Characterized by a unique atmosphere that enables both highly scientific and informal exchanges among the participants, the format of the HLF is distinctive to other conferences. Laureate lectures highlight the scientific program that is reinforced by postdoc workshops, PhD poster presentations and panel discussion. When infused with a diverse social program, the participants were able to cultivate connections and had the opportunity to expand their personal networks. About the award

The Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF) is a networking conference where 200 carefully selected young researchers in mathematics and computer science spend a week interacting with the laureates of the disciplines: recipients of the Abel Prize, ACM A.M. Turing Award, ACM Prize in Computing, Fields Medal, IMU Abacus Medal and Nevanlinna Prize. Established in 2013, the HLF is annually organized by the Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation (HLFF). The opportunity to join the annual HLF is provided exclusively to outstanding young researchers in mathematics and computer science (or closely related fields) at the Undergraduate/Pre-Master, Graduate PhD and Postdoc levels. In order to participate, they have to pass a multi-step application and selection process.
