Comparative Politics
I am a Professor and Chair of Comparative Politics at the University of Münster (Germany) and a tenured Associate Professor at Aarhus University (Denmark). My research and teaching center on Comparative Politics, Political Behavior, and Political Economy. My work addresses pressing challenges contemporary democracies are facing, including the rise of extremism, its societal impacts, strategies to mitigate it, and the erosion of social norms. Employing rigorous empirical methods, particularly (quasi-)experimental designs, I strive to test theoretical arguments with real-world relevance. My research has been published in leading journals such as the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, British Journal of Political Science, and the Journal of Politics.
