Research Focus
- Interface-coupled dissolution-precipitation as the mechanism of mineral replacement.
- Phase transformations in minerals with particular reference to the evolution of microstructure.
- The use of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) in mineralogy and the interpretation of crystallographic information.
- The characterisation of mineral structural changes by the use of diffraction and spectroscopic methods.
- The mechanisms that control large-scale earth processes such as metamorphism, metasomatism and weathering.
