Research at the Institute addresses current biomedical problems, predominantly from the fields of neurobiology and vascular biology. Using a broad range of mostly molecular and morphological techniques, several groups explore aspects of synapse function and their putative role in important human diseases. In addition studies within the Institute comprise the molecular biology of inflammation and molecular cardiovascular imaging.
