Description

David R. Loy is currently one of the most renowned Buddhist thinkers with a western background. Considering diverse religious traditions his nondual philosophy provides an interreligious foundation for his social and ecological ethics that focuses primarily on the encounter between Buddhism and modernity and what Buddhism says about our personal and collective predicament today in relation to the rest of the biosphere. From an interdisciplinary approach in between Religious Studies and Intercultural Philosophy this PhD thesis offers a comprehensive analysis of David Loy’s thought.
