Zusammenfassung

Li(NixMnyCoz)O2 (NMC, 0 ≤ x , y , z < 1) has become one of the most important cathode materials for modern lithium ion batteries, due to the high capacity, lower costs and improved safety in comparison to LiCoO2 cathodes. Two NMC materials have been successfully adopted in commercial lithium ion batteries up today: Li(Ni0.33Mn0.33Co0.33)O2 (NMC-111) and Li(Ni0.5Mn0.3Co0.2)O2 (NMC-532). In this study the aging behavior of three different commercial cells with NMC-111 and NMC-532 cathodes in cylindrical 18650 design were investigated by electrochemical methods and scanning electron microscopy.
