Zusammenfassung

We present a simple geometric model to investigate the particle–wall collisions process in the case of a structured wall surface. Specifically, we examine the effects of varying the oblique impact angle, the amplitude of the sinusoidal modulation, and the restitution coefficients. We show that (i) the sinusoidal variation of the surface height considerably alters the bouncing process and (ii) four different ranges of rebounding behavior can be distinguished. We also find that our simple model is able to give results in a qualitative agreement with previous experiment on the particle–wall collisions process for a rough wall surface.
