AIS is honored to partner with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation to offer a new annual fellowship program for PhD students studying the intersection of innovation, entrepreneurship, and information systems. Harnessing entrepreneurial perspectives in all phases and domains of information systems research projects are critically important in advancing the field. The fellowships will support PhD students exploring these topics. The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation is committed to building inclusive prosperity entrepreneur-focused economic development. The Foundation creates collaborations with communities and organizations to develop shared learning and knowledge while bringing people together. The fellowship is available to PhD students studying topics that build on entrepreneurial-focused IS research streams examining social media, metaverse, 5G chatbots, FinTech, digital platform ecosystems, crowdfunding and more. “This first-of-its-kind fellowship provides AIS with an opportunity to support rising PhD students from around the world in their efforts to advance their research streams,” said Patrick Chau, AIS President. “Now, more than ever, these emerging leaders across the globe need these invaluable collaboration opportunities to strengthen and accelerate their ideas.” The fellowship includes: Funds to support up to five PhD students focused on entrepreneurship research at $5,000 per year. Funds to assist with travel to AIS conferences to present, discuss, and collaborate on research. Funds to participate/host workshops and seminars on entrepreneurship and IS research.
